Early morning yesterday I have submitted a new version of Photo+Map - and of course a new Lite version too.
What's new with the upcoming version beside the usual bug fixes : the support for Google Maps in addition to Yahoo Maps. With the newer version you will have now have a new setting available to choose your map provider. By default the provider is Yahoo Maps, but if you prefer to get Google Maps instead, then it's simply a matter of a tap away.
What's the difference between the two provider :
- some user may prefer Google Maps look rather than Yahoo Maps
- Google Map API unfortunately has a stronger limitation in the dimension of static maps : 640 pixels. In comparison Yahoo Maps has a limitation of 1024 pixels. So that limitation will be usually visible if you are using a large picture (over 1000 pixel for one side), using Yahoo Maps as the provider you will be able to get a bigger map
Beside that the Lite version is now producing the final image with the text "Made with Photo+Map" and the URL for the site... Hey this is the Lite version so it needs to help promote the main application!
The apps are still waiting for review in the appstore, and hopefully they should appear soon.
