My new application has been rejected by the AppStore review team... It's quite disappointing that it was rejected since the application provided some really neat features for anyone using the iWork.com online system.
The application was called WorkMatter and was basically an iPhone/iPod Touch client for viewing the comments posted on iWork.com.
Apple decided to reject the application for the following reasons :
"Applications may not use any robot, spider, site search or other retrieval application or device to scrape, retrieve or index services provided by Apple or its licensors, or to collect information about users for any unauthorized purpose. "
There is no public API allowing information from iWork.com to be used in the manner demonstrated by your application.
The most frustrating part is that the application is simply using WebDAV to retrieve the information and use some well crafted JSON to post the data back to the server. I did explain that to the AppStore review team but so far I did not get any reply... and I am not expecting any.
